National Artificial Eye Service
As part of the NHS, the National Artificial Eye Service runs various clinics across England, where you can have your prosthesis checked, polished or even replaced when necessary.
Most people are referred into the clinic by their ophthalmologist and will automatically receive an appointment. If, however, you have not been under the care of the clinic for some time, you will need a referral from your GP to access this NHS service.
To find your nearest clinic, you can ring the information line on 01253 651 131.
